Major Express

SOUND FOR RIDING

Major Express came to our program in June 2025. He is a 2010 chestnut gelding who was bred for racing and trained at the track, but was not ever actually raced. His previous owner had him for 10 years and restarted him in trail riding and eventing. Her life circumstances changed and she could no longer care for him - not due to any fault of his. We are still getting to know him, but it is clear that he has a lot of training and experience and doesn’t feel much like a racehorse at all! He is tall, big boned and sturdy, with the sweetest temperament. He really wants to please and deserves to find his forever person!

Lucky Money

SOUND FOR RIDING

“Lucky” is a 2021 bay gelding who was not competitive as a racehorse, but was able to retire before sustaining any injuries. He is track broke, but a blank slate in a lot of ways and ready to go any direction with an experienced rider/handler, or someone working closely with a professional trainer. He is very cute and tries hard to please!

Permian Wildcat

SOUND FOR RIDING

“Josie” is a 2021 unraced bay mare who fractured a sesamoid in racing training. She has healed well and should have no soundness limitations going forward. Josie has begun groundwork training and is so fun to work with. She is going to make someone an incredible partner!

Reel Em In

COMPANION HORSE ONLY

“Nemo” is a 2018 chestnut gelding who retired from racing after 15 starts. Unfortunately, he developed osselets (bone growths) on his fetlocks while on the track from the high demand and stress of the sport. Because the joints are involved, it is not recommended that he do much riding. He is comfortable now and we’d like him to stay that way, so we are offering him as a companion horse only. He has a lovely temperament and is gorgeous to look at - he would make a wonderful addition to any herd!

Moon Pie Money

COMPANION HORSE ONLY

Moon Pie is a 2021 filly who fractured her knee and shin, causing her to retire from racing after 3 starts. She has responded well to a PRP (platelet-rich plasma) treatment to heal the fracture, but is not currently sound for riding. She does well living in a herd and gets along well with other mares.
